Social Media | What’s Next?

In our arsenal of apps, we have platforms that seem to hit every sensory and need. Instagram houses our pictures, Twitter our wit, Tiktok short videos, Youtube long videos, Clubhouse auditory meeting rooms. The evolution of social media seems to be that rather than ‘reinventing the wheel’, as each of these apps near the end of its lifecycle, another will pop up to take its place.

Technologically, if I were a betting lady, I would put it all down on the fact that in the next twenty to fifty years, we are going to start having standardized tech like what we see in movies like iron man/spiderman.

We are already seeing an emergence of big-time investments in VR-related technology, software, and advertising. It only points towards an evolution of technology as well. Some could argue the order of things (like what came first, chicken or egg), but either way, they will likely closely follow one another. These advancements will change the functionality and use we will be looking for in the social platforms we subscribe to.
