Live-Tweeting: an interesting experience

In today’s age, experiencing an event or a series of moments isn’t as simple as being present and involved. It usually means documenting each passing second to somehow share, stream, or record it for viewing pleasure at a later point.

For someone like me who has a keen interest and passion for creating content, this can become hard. The tip-toeing of how to enjoy each moment, and also to capture the memory in hand. For a class, I was asked to live-tweet an event I was attending. I took it as an opportunity to attend something I had been meaning to try out (a yoga class being hosted in my building’s gym), while still creating content for distribution. I must say, it was easier than I thought!

Keeping in mind my goals, I was able to take a pause to tweet before the event started. I arrived early to make sure that I didn’t disrupt the class/experience.

We then took a break for water and I seized this opportunity to update my Twitter as well. Both times felt a little unnatural and nerve-wracking because it was not the norm for the others in attendance, but overall not a big deal.

It was kind of fun! Almost as if I had an audience I was updating with my daily life activities that others may have an interest or participation in as well. I do wish that I had been more out-going during the event itself so that I could have captured a selfie with some others in the event, but overall it was both a successful class and tweet-worthy.
